Mindfulness with Every Thank You
Rebbe Nachman of Breslev teaches that the main reason we feel far from G-d is only the cause of an unsettled mind, lack of mindfulness.
When we do the 100 thank you’s a day, we begin our path of just starting to discover some good in our lives. We do so without applying much focus or thought on what we are thanking G-d for.
Today we will begin transforming our thank You’s into mindfulness. To those who have done this challenge and can reach the 100 “easily” this will be a big game changer. We won’t jump too fast and we will simply start with our first 5 thank you’s a little differently.
Before you begin your first 5 thank You’s take a deep breath. Try to think about what you are about to say. Begin to focus the mind on what it is you are actually about to thank G-d for.
With time we will be able to thank Gd with more mindfulness and thought. However, for now, this is not expected of us as we are in the beginning stages and this is actually a lifetime of work.
All that’s needed is a bit of effort to achieve. The effort of applying our mind to the thank you’s. Raising our awareness of what is truly around us and what we actually already possess.
