It’s Good to Give Thanks to G-d
In Psalms, King David says; “it is good to give thanks to G-d and to sing to Your exalted name”. And here Kind David is teaching us a very deep and profound yet simple concept in our lives. The more we go with the first part of the verse which is ‘simply thanking G-d’ we merit to reveal a new, higher level in the latter part which is ‘singing to G-d’.
Thanking G-d with simplicity is one of the foundations of gratitude. When we introspect and look deeper into our lives, we will find that we are missing out on many simple things that without them, life would have been more difficult for us.
And saying a simple thank you to G-d is a necessary step in order to come to the bigger understanding of singing to G-d. This part of the verse is referring to the knowledge that Kind David acquired. That everything that G-d does in this world, is for the good.
The level of being able to sing through our difficulties seems far and unreachable. But King David is giving us the path which he paved long ago. Start with some simple thank you’s about the simple things in your life and it will lead you to the highest levels of creation.
Rebbe Nachman of Breslev said; ‘when a person knows that everything that happens to him is for his best, that is an aspect of the world to come’
With G-d’s help, we will continue to learn later on in the challenge of thanking G-d throughout a hardship and a challenge and with that obtaining a higher level of acceptance and faith.
40 days. 100 thank You’s a day. Change your life. See miracles.
